Visiting South Carolina

Eliza Claire and I flew out to Aiken, SC to visit Boo Boo, Bubba, Wanda, Matt, and Trey.

This is Eliza Claire's first time on an airplane.

Uncle Bubba and Eliza had a great time playing chase on the floor.

She also became good friends with Buddy.

We enjoyed some nice weather out there. We went for one walk the first day, but it was so hilly ....we just played outside the other days.

Boo Boo gave Eliza Claire her credit card to shop at Target. Thanks Boo!

Eliza Claire enjoyed the last night there playing with Aunt Wanda and Mama.

Boo Boo and Wanda saw us off at the airport in Augusta.

Eliza Claire found the window on the first flight home.

She and I waited patiently in the Atlanta airport for our flight home.

We had a nice time and are so glad we got to spend time with the family. We miss Boo Boo already!

While Mama and Daddy are away...

Trey, my mom, Michael, and I went to "Shamroclin the Coast" last weekend. (A fundraiser for St. Patrick school)

Eliza Claire did not seem to miss us a bit. SHe had a wonderful time playing with Gay and Hazel.

They even taught her a thing or two.

Trey got a happy surprise from Michael at the end of the night.

Eating out

We went to Carnival de Brazil for dinner with Grandpa Leo

Eliza Claire enjoyed gnawing on Uncle Michael's leftover ribs.

She really enjoyed sharing desert with Mama.

We had a nice time. Thanks Grandpa!

Up, down, and over!

Getting up has gotton much easier.

She can even reach for things... like Daisy, and get back up.

Eliza Claire now has control enough to stand up on her own, and sit back down without the big plop!

She can also go over things... like Daddy.

That's one way to do it!

I gave Eliza Claire some juice while she was playing on the floor.

apparently she did not want to let go of her spoons to pick up the cup.

She actually managed to pick it up off the ground once or twice.

She was trying to pick it up with her mouth and throw her head back to drink.

Needless to say... it did not work out too well.at first I was laughing at my "special" little girl. Then, I realized.... she simply had a problem and found a possible solution (just not a very easy one) So I guess this was pretty clever :)

Understanding the game

We realized last night that Eliza Claire and Oliver have figured out how to play. Eliza Claire knows that it is his toy and he wants it.

Oliver knows that she knows it is his, but wants to take it from him. He knows the game is like keep a way.

This chase went on for a while, then she gets it back.

They both know to give it back once they have it.

This is her new thing. She wants to take all of her toys out of the basket. She did this earlier when the basket was up on the hearth behind her. She stood there (at the hearth) and would reach in, look at the toy, then throw it down. This video will have to do, but you get the idea that it is cute!

I am trying to get video of her getting up on her own. She wants to move. She takes a step forward...then falls.

Standing alone

Now, crawling and cruising are not good enough. She want to walk. She can take a few steps when you hold her hands, but that's it.

In these two she is actually standing up by herself. I had to hold the camera up to try to get all of her...and still have one hand ready to catch her if needed. She can stand for 5-10 seconds!

Notice how she looks back at me... like "what are you doing, don't you see she wants inside?"

I really don't need to joke about it...this is really about the only time she cries (when you try to make her miss out on fun stuff and SLEEP)
